Even a little (or a lot) of rain couldn’t dampen our spirits this week as we shot the Victoria Square 2012 Ladies Day Campaign at Down Royal Race Course.
The fourth annual Victoria Square Ladies Day is set to be a special occasion. For one glamorous afternoon on Friday 14th September, the most stylish shopping destination in Northern Ireland will take over Down Royal and bring some beauty to the balconies of the infamous race course.
Synonymous with style, race day is no exception for Victoria Square; and this year, the fashion is expected to reach new heights! We have been inspired by the Holywood era of old, where ladies were truly glamorous and an afternoon at the races meant donning an outfit that was ultimately special.
For this shoot, I wanted to show off the stunning style that our retailers have to offer for an occasion such as a Race Day, when we would encourage all of Victoria Square’s guest’s to up the style anti – Ladies Day is the perfect excuse!
Our stunning models for the day, Tiffany and Jayne, breezed through Down Royal in a mixture of classic monochrome outfits and bright, showstopping dresses. Thanks to our brilliant retailers like House of Fraser, Cruise, Coast, Ted Baker, Monsoon, Reiss, Hobbs and LK Bennett for lending us some of their beautiful pieces.
Accessories can really made an impact at The Races, so I focussed on reds, pinks and oranges in bags, hats and fascinators to add a quirky difference to their looks – while keeping the overall outfits classy and sophisticated. I was so impressed by the headwear options in Accessorize this year in particular, where we were spoilt for choice.
The lovely Grainne Maher gave this shoot a designer edge by launching some of her exclusive new House of Fraser headwear in our campaign – her pieces were stunning and really gave some of our looks an edge that I am dreaming of seeing replicated on the Ladies Day balconies on 14th September.
A special guest joined us on the shoot, in the form of Jayne’s stunning show jumping horse, Flossie, who totally stole the show! Flo perfectly complimented our monochrome theme and made the girl’s bright, Ted Baker maxi dresses look heavenly. These were some of my favourite shots from the day.

Look out for this shoot appearing in the July/August edition of IN! Magazine. In the meantime, to inspire you for Ladies Day, here are some sneak peeks of my behind the scenes photos from our day shooting at Down Royal.
Tallyho and it’s off the races we go!
