TIMBERLAND COMBINES TECHNOLOGY AND VERSATILITY FOR SUMMER
INTRODUCING FOOTWEAR AND APPAREL COLLECTIONS BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE
For Spring 2012 Timberland combines intuitive performance innovations with authentic outdoor heritage, equipping men to pursue all kinds of outdoor adventures. The collection is designed for active men who want to look stylish from springtime into the long, hot days of summer.
“You’ll see men across the globe turning to Timberland at this time of year for trusted products that they know will deliver – they want to really enjoy their outdoor experiences and we design product to help them achieve that,” said Brian Moore, vice president of men’s footwear for Timberland. “We understand that men spend time in the outdoors in different ways, so we design footwear for the most extreme conditions with the latest technologies and innovations.”
SS12 KEY STYLES FOR LAND AND SEA
The new Pathrock Collection features an outsole system engineered for maximized traction, stability and slip-resistance. A guaranteed waterproof Gore-Tex® membrane ensures feet are kept dry. Men can also feel good about the recycled materials in the Pathrock Collection, such as a Green Rubber™ outsole made with 42% recycled rubber and a lining made with 100% recycled PET from plastic bottles.
The Formentor Ventilated P2i Boat Shoe merges best-in-class performance attributes with stylish design and durability, allowing men to perform at the highest level. Gripstick™ technology combines Gripstick™ rubber to push water away in all directions, enhancing grip. The addition of liquid-repellent ion-mask™ technology by P2i and built-in drainage ports that allow water to escape easily make the Formentor incredibly quick-drying and breathable.
The Pathrock Jacket is ergonomically designed to give fast hikers greater movement. Reinforced shoulder panels are built in for extra protection when wearing a backpack. Breathable construction for temperature control, waterproof protection from taped seams and the inclusion of 77% organic cotton make this the ultimate trail jacket – performance and eco-consciousness with no trade-off.
For time spent on the ocean, the Formentor Race Jacket boasts ergonomic design with built-in climate control. The Formentor Race Jacket is breathable but fully waterproof – up to 10,000 mm. S-Café® fabric in the linings is made with PET yarns from recycled plastic bottles and recycled coffee grounds.
FOUR MATERIALS EXPERTLY COMBINED FOR THE ECO-CONSCIOUS MINIMALIST
For Spring 2012 Timberland introduces ® Hookset Handcrafted Collection, a line that represents Timberland’s best efforts to keep construction simple. Each style is made using only four basic materials: 1) 100% organic washed cotton canvas for lightweight comfort and durability, 2) natural renewable latex rubber for superior comfort in the footbed and traction in the outsole, 3) corrosion-resistant aluminum for durability and 4) reclaimed scrap leather to create distinctive accent pieces. Each pair is made by hand and garment-dyed for a unique, stylish look. The collection is available in three silhouettes, the Earthkeepers® Hookset Handcrafted Fabric 6” Boot, Chukka and Oxford.
VERSATILITY AND STYLE FOR ANY OCCASION
The Earthkeepers® Front Country Travel Collection provides shoes for work and play, perfect for travel. Designed for convenience, this durable collection features ingeniously hidden gored fit sleeves and gored eyelets to hold laces in place for easy on-and-off as well as Timberland’s proprietary Anti-Fatigue technology to absorb and return energy all day.
The Earthkeepers® Front Country Travel Plain Toe Chukka, Casual Oxford and Moc Toe Chukka are also made with the environment in mind. S.Café® linings made with recycled PET and recycled coffee grounds and Green Rubber™ outsoles made from 42% recycled rubber.
INSPIRED DESIGN PAYS HOMAGE TO THE ART OF MAKING FOOTWEAR
Timberland’s elite collections for men merge considered detail with heritage-driven style and the most premium materials and construction. The Abington Collection is inspired by a time when people were rugged, the land was rugged and the gear they depended on had to be, too. The Spring 2012 collection embodies the sense of exploration and discovery found among the original New England guides, with a modern reinterpretation. The Alpine Oxford Hiker Trail Shoe, Lodge Moccasin Oxford and the Lodge Chukka all feature premium full-grain Horween® leather made in the United States, Vibram® soles for durability and traction and Timberland’s proprietary Anti-Fatigue footbed technology for long-lasting comfort.
Drawing its original inspiration from the post-industrial era, a time of transition in New England when boots and shoes were hand-crafted to last a lifetime, Timberland Boot Company® footwear is a premium collection that is constantly evolving, meeting and exceeding the demands of men who admire quality, authenticity and classic design. Most materials in the Spring 2012 men’s line are sourced from the Americas – Horween® leather from Chicago, laces from Rhode Island, eyelets and soles from Massachusetts, midsole leather and footbeds from Pennsylvania. New for spring is the Mudlark Series - soft, flexible leathers are combined with canvas and small details such as ankle zippers and pull-on finger loops made by some of the most talented and skilled handsewers from Timberland’s Dominican Republic factory. The Eastern Standard Series makes a return in Spring 2012 with beautifully made boots, made start-to-finish in Lewiston, Maine. The Tackhead Series rounds out the collection, with raw cut edges and straight lines for a rugged, utilitarian work boot. Summer weight styles in the series are made using British Millerain waxed canvas known for its longstanding heritage of weather-proofing.
